This heart is a fickle thing…

” I am a material girl, in this material World”, Madonna wrote this song and it resonates with me every single time I buy anything. I am not kidding you. Sometimes the tune gets into my head while walking down aisles shopping for washing detergent too. It’s a tough life and I am living it.

We all like things we want in our lives which we can totally do without but heart, that fickle thing! So some buy diamonds, some shoes, some indulge in expensive gadgets, some in stationary and most on clothes. But we are all running after the “want” of materialistic things. And it is okay! We all sail on the same boat as Madonna. All is well.

But then there are things we just love. We like to decorate our houses with bits and pieces, we like to wear clothes that suit us (we must!) and unfortunately ALL of that costs something the humans made a long long time ago and I hate them for it, MONEY. Ugh.

So we do the grown up thing, we make budgets. We spend but we see tags first and then like memes on Instagram that say, “Five year plan? I see myself buying something without seeing the price tag”. This life, like Cruella De Vil (of the 101 Dalmatians!!) is one pain in the rear sometimes.

So ladies and gents, without further ado, here is a list of 5 things I pour my money out on BUT with a budget in mind. (Look at me adult-ing!)

‘Cute bottles’

I love cute little glass bottles and I CANNOT lie. It is a thing, whenever there is a cute bottle in sight I must have it. Why? I then decorate them and keep them around the house.

This cute little bottle is shaped as a plum with leaf detailing around the head. I have arranged a bunch of dried flowers on top and dropped a few inside the bottle. You can also place potpourri in these and voila!  It sits pretty om a glass table or even a wooden one.

‘Stationary’

Guilty. Guilty and guilty a gazillion times over. I love cute pieces of stationary and try and get my hands on as many as possible. Recently, while meandering through a kiddies shop (yes, I am always on the hunt and sometimes in the oddest places) I came across this notepad. What happened next? LOVE.

‘Cleansing Wipes’

Cleansing wipes and hand sanitizers are a must. Who knows when the Universe throws a curve and I need to rescue the World with my stash? Too much? Well, that is how much I love them. This time around I got the Cetaphil cleansing wipes that are for gentle skin to normal skin. Lowe them! Sometimes, when I do get super lazy nd want to skip the night routine, ladies we have all done that, I just clean em’ with these and voila! Less guilty.

‘Nail paint’

A good nail paint takes you a long long way. Define a good nail paint you ask? Something that does not chip easy. I have been on a hunt for them things for a while, and I think I finally found it. The OPI one’s are pretty but they are also a bit expensive, the Gelogic nail paints are as the name suggests gel based, affordable and long lasting. Even though I love my colourful nail paints, all the funky kinds, this one here is a winner. A pretty pink that goes with everything and on everyone.

‘Liquid lipsticks’

Oh my JOE! One thing I never leave the house without and now that I have discovered matt liquid lipsticks I have found cosmetic heaven. Not one for any other cosmetic, I love a good lipshade and the brighter the better. It’s funny though because growing up my mother would only put on the subtle earthy shades and even as a teenager/young adult I disliked  them for most part. A total lip balm girl who suddenly found M.A.C  a couple of years ago and has never looked back.

I recommend every girl to have atleast ONE strong lip shade in their kitty.

That’s about it from me guys. Do tell me if you love any of the things above or anything else. Love hearing from you.

Until then stay tangled. xx
