Travel Must Do’s..

Traveling gives most us the adrenaline kick. It is such a joy to go to a new place and discover the beauty and hidden gems of that town/city/country. I have always traveled within India and being a daughter of an Army officer, I have had a panoramic view of India. I recently had my first “International Holiday” and boy did I learn a lot, courtesy my Husband. So here are a couple of things you must ALWAYS keep in mind..

~ Your passport is your most prized possession. Guard it with your life.

~ If its an International travel, carry a pen with you at all times. AT. ALL. TIMES. You will need it very often and its better to be prepared.

~ Be careful of the luggage weight (domestic or international air travel) those things can cost you if you aren’t careful.

~ Train travel is fun. Try it. BUT be very careful of your luggage.

~ Travel light. I know it is tough and being a girl everything is important to carry but you need to let go, trust me.

~ Map. If you are traveling alone or with friends/family, the first thing to do is buy a map and get a hang of the place (or just open Google Maps on your phone). But from personal experience, I would suggest buying a map since the network is like a tricky mistress.

~ Money, but don’t keep it all together, split it. Chances of you losing your wallet are high when traveling. Just be cautious. (Happened to me, so take my word for it.)

~ Keep the jewelry to a bare minimum. It’s always better that way, less tension.

~ Sunscreen is a must in that bag of yours. Weather you are hitting a beach or the mountains (yes, you tan during the winters and mountains are the worst) you MUST have a sunscreen that suits your skin type.

~ A bag pack or a tote. You cannot be a city girl while traveling with a little clutch on the side. A big bag helps you keep all your things with you at all times. Its more like Wonderland.

~ A good shampoo and conditioner is needed. If you are anything like me, most hotel shampoos don’t suit me and the change of water is a curse, carry a good shampoo with you.

~ Be prepared. All you women out there, prepare for your “that time of the month” and carry a pack of tampons or sanitary napkins. Just incase.

Lastly, have fun. Do not worry or be anxious. Travelling brings out the best in us. So flash a smile. Be careful of the creepies and explore!
