The big fat Punjabi wedding is a lot like the Big fat Greek wedding, only we have more colours. I, Manasvi (what up?!) recently tied the knot and the wedding was a little different from the usual affair. The whole jingbang was over in 2 days with the Sagan, Mehendi and Sangeet on Day 1 followed by a day wedding and an after party on Day2. I wouldn’t say that the preperations were easy, it took me a whole year to plan the whole thing. What to wear for each one of my function was nerve wrecking and Neha had a similar situation going on as my Maid of Honour.
Here is a peek into the “Putting a ring on it” Ceremony also called the Engagement. A day affair, again.
I wore a combination of royal blue, orange and hot pink pakistani suit. Since I am gigantor, I chose to wear a pair of Needledust jutti’s, some silver jewelry and MAC eyeliner.
Neha chose to wear a self designed royal blue anarkali suit with a funky Rajasthani patchwork jacket, gold heels and MAC eyeliner for makeup. And hey, notice the sunnies on her!
We aren’t big on makeup and so we kept it very simple.
