The Indian fashion scene has seen a lot of changes over the past decade. From just a few select famous names under the spotlight to the flurry of new talent being recognized. It has been truly revolutionary. It is by far the best time for Fashion in India. So, we at Tangles and Teacups decided to celebrate it and give you our top 5 young and promising fashion designers.
1. Shift by Nimish Shah: One of the flag bearers of the day luxe movement, he designs for the working woman and colours outside the lines.

2. Ikai by Ragini Ahuja: The former graphic designer takes fashion to the next level by combining leather and bandhini prints like it’s meant to be.

3. Frou Frou by Archana Rao: Let’s be frank, if Blair Waldorf were to star in Sound of Music this is the label she would wear. No questions asked. There is nostalgia of the days gone past in Archana’s designs that shines.

4. Ka-Sha by Karishma Shahani Khan: There is just a quirkiness in Shibani’s ensembles that make you want to smile broadly. The childlike prints from ducks to starfish and flower buds makes this lady very popular!

5. Masaba Gupta: This young lady right here has checked all the boxes when it comes to fashion. She is fun, quirky and completely out of the box. “Masaba prints” like the camera, lipstick, fans and even a sewing machine are now the talk of the town and boy has she done it well! She is the first designer to launch an exclusive line for Chetan Bhagat’s new book Half Girlfriend. Definitely the one to watch out for..

The best thing about these young designers is the ease with which they interact and get inspired with their consumers. May it be social interactions on social platforms or selling their designs online! It is amazing to see how much the fashion industry has changed in India and it looks like it will only get better..
Stay tangled. xx
